The remarkable events of the MIT150 celebration sprang from the minds and the hands of hundreds of you in our community. Symposia and personal histories, exhibits and memorable speeches, community outreach and interactive timelines—your ideas and hard work helped define for the world who we are, where we've been, where we're going.

In 150 days, we captured the soul of this institution. The appreciative response from across the MIT community told us clearly that some aspects of MIT150 deserve to be repeated.

We wanted to know specifically those things on which we as an Institute needed to focus in the wake of our sesquicentennial celebration to make use of the wealth of ideas, materials, and content we created; and to continue this energy and engagement within our community moving forward.

You answered—and the Idea Bank, a forum for open discussion and an opportunity to share your thoughts directly with the MIT150 Steering Committee and the community at-large, has worked.

You have reflected on the activities you found most meaningful, that raised our collective ambitions, and that strengthened our sense of community. And you have proposed ideas that might continue the outreach and self-reflection of an extraordinary 150 days.

Thank you.

A report describing the community's response to the MIT150 Idea Bank has been developed. Thank you once again—through your engagement in fora like this one, among many others—for helping to make MIT all that it is.
